Service agreement for The Lighthouse Early Care and Education

Welcome to The Lighthouse Early Care and Education. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website (www.thelighthouseece.com) and the childcare services we provide. By accessing our website or enrolling your child in our programs, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website, submitting enrollment forms, or utilizing our childcare services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and parents/guardians who access the website or enroll children in our programs.

2. Description of Services

The Lighthouse Early Care and Education is a state-licensed childcare facility located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We provide:

  • Full-day childcare for children ages 2-12
  • Toddler programs (ages 2-3)
  • Preschool programs (ages 3-5)
  • Pre-Kindergarten programs (ages 4-5)
  • Before and after school care (ages 5-12)
  • Summer camp programs
  • Early childhood education curriculum

3. Enrollment and Registration

Eligibility

To enroll a child in our programs, you must:

  • Be the parent or legal guardian of the child
  • Provide accurate and complete enrollment information
  • Ensure your child meets the age requirements for the selected program
  • Complete all required registration forms and documentation
  • Provide current immunization records as required by Colorado state law

Enrollment Process

Enrollment is subject to availability and acceptance by The Lighthouse. Submitting an enrollment inquiry or application does not guarantee a spot. We reserve the right to accept or decline enrollment at our discretion.

Required Documentation

Parents/guardians must provide all required documentation before a child can attend, including but not limited to:

  • Completed enrollment forms
  • Immunization records
  • Emergency contact information
  • Medical information and allergy disclosures
  • Authorized pickup list
  • Signed policies and agreements

4. Tuition and Payment

Tuition Rates

Current tuition rates are provided during the enrollment process and may be updated periodically. We will provide written notice of any rate changes at least 30 days in advance.

Payment Terms

  • Tuition is due according to the payment schedule established during enrollment
  • We accept various payment methods as specified during registration
  • Late payments may be subject to late fees as outlined in your enrollment agreement
  • Non-payment may result in suspension or termination of services

Registration Fees

A non-refundable registration fee may be required at the time of enrollment. This fee secures your child's spot and covers administrative costs.

5. Hours of Operation

The Lighthouse operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and designated holidays. We observe major holidays throughout the year. A holiday schedule will be provided to all enrolled families at the beginning of each calendar year.

6. Drop-Off and Pick-Up Policies

Authorized Persons

Children will only be released to individuals listed on the authorized pickup list. Valid photo identification is required. If someone not on the list needs to pick up your child, you must provide written or verbal authorization in advance.

Late Pick-Up

Our center closes at 5:30 PM. Late pick-up fees may apply for arrivals after closing time. Repeated late pick-ups may result in termination of services.

7. Health and Safety

Illness Policy

To maintain a healthy environment for all children and staff:

  • Children with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illness must stay home
  • Children must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning
  • We reserve the right to send children home if illness symptoms develop during the day
  • Parents must notify us of any contagious illness diagnosis

Medications

We can only administer medications with proper documentation, including written parental consent and physician instructions when required.

Immunizations

All children must have current immunizations as required by Colorado state law, unless a valid exemption is on file.

8. Conduct and Behavior

Child Behavior

We expect all children to treat others with respect and kindness. We use positive guidance techniques to encourage appropriate behavior. In cases of persistent behavioral issues, we will work with families to develop a plan. However, we reserve the right to terminate enrollment if a child's behavior poses a safety risk to themselves, other children, or staff.

Parent/Guardian Conduct

We expect parents and guardians to:

  • Treat staff, other parents, and children with respect
  • Communicate concerns through appropriate channels
  • Comply with all center policies and procedures
  • Provide accurate and updated information

9. Communication

We may communicate with you through various methods including:

  • Phone calls and text messages
  • Email
  • In-person conversations
  • Posted notices at the center
  • Parent communication apps or portals

By providing your contact information, you consent to receive communications related to your child's care and our services.

10. Photographs and Media

We may photograph or video children during activities for internal use, documentation, or promotional purposes. Separate consent is obtained for any public use of images. You may opt out of promotional use at any time by providing written notice.

11. Termination of Services

Voluntary Withdrawal

Families wishing to withdraw must provide written notice according to the terms specified in your enrollment agreement (typically 2 weeks notice).

Termination by The Lighthouse

We reserve the right to terminate enrollment for reasons including but not limited to:

  • Non-payment of tuition or fees
  • Failure to comply with policies and procedures
  • Behavior that poses a safety risk
  • Providing false or misleading information
  • Inappropriate conduct by parent/guardian

12. Liability and Indemnification

Limitation of Liability

The Lighthouse Early Care and Education and its staff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or website. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by Colorado law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Lighthouse Early Care and Education, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your child's enrollment, your use of our website, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Website Use

Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of The Lighthouse Early Care and Education or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.

Permitted Use

You may view and download content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party sites.

14. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. We encourage families to first attempt to resolve any concerns directly with center management. If formal proceedings are necessary, they shall be conducted in El Paso County, Colorado.

16. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any enrollment agreements you sign, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Lighthouse Early Care and Education regarding the use of our website and services.
